The “Get Connected. Meet MAX” Campaign

We all feel disconnected sometimes. Guys into guys deserve complete wellness.

MAX Ottawa is thrilled to launch the “Get Connected” campaign, developed by MAX and MediaStyle. This campaign invites guys into guys from the Ottawa region to get in touch with MAX to:

Why the “Get Connected” campaign?

Guys into guys show higher rates of distress than straight men. Recent research has identified depression, anxiety, social isolation, body image issues, violence, and substance use as some of the social and mental health issues that our GBT2Q communities are facing. These issues are amplified for guys into guys at the intersection of two or more inequities (i.e.: trans folks, immigrants and newcomers, guys of colour, two-spirit, and indigenous folks)

Through this campaign we want to raise awareness about the fact that guys into guys can feel disconnected at sometimes, but that we all deserve complete wellness. The “Get Connected.” campaign invites the guys from our communities to do the first step by meeting MAX. As Ottawa’s health and community hub for guys into guys, we’ll make our best to connect guys to health services or to the community.

How can you help MAX spread the word?

This is a social-media-first campaign. The central piece is a video about our art-piece “Get Connected” project, where guys from our communities share some heartfelt testimonials. The video is available in English with captions or with French subtitles. Besides the video we have other promotional materials including posters, social media avatars, and wallet cards.

You can help by sharing our materials online or offline through your personal or organizational channels. And do not forget to use the hashtag: #getconnectedmeetmax

Here is some online content you can share and you can always come by our office to pick up some print promotional materials 😉
