DESCRIPTION:🌈🇵🇸🏳️‍⚧️ Join us for a community event to learn about queer and trans solidarity with Palestine! \n\n\n\nFeaturing: \n\n\n\n🍉 Maša Davidovic (Ottawa) @masha_davidovic🍉 Maria Fakhouri (Ottawa)🍉 Natalie Kouri-Towe (Montreal) \n\n\n\nSpeakers at this event will address the following questions: \n\n\n\n🌈 🏳️‍⚧️ Why do so many queer and trans people identify with and support the struggle for Palestinian liberation? \n\n\n\n🇵🇸 What is pinkwashing and how does Israel use it to legitimize apartheid\, occupation\, and genocide? \n\n\n\n🌈🏳️‍⚧️🇵🇸 Why is connecting the queer\, trans\, and Palestinian struggles a powerful strategy for building an even stronger liberation movement? \n\n\n\nℹ️ Accessibility Information \n\n\n\n• This will be a masked event in order to support community health and safety. Masks will be provided free of charge.• The amphitheatre is a sloped space which is entered from the back. There are two stairway steps between each row in the amphitheatre.• There are four dedicated spaces for wheelchairs at the back/top of the amphitheatre.• The last row of seats will be reserved for participants with mobility limitations; as mentioned above\, it is necessary to take two steps down to sit in this row. \n\n\n\n✨ Looking forward to seeing you on May 16! \n\n\n\nThis event is part of the Punchup Collective’s Month of May Day 2025 event series.
