DESCRIPTION:Blending zine-inspired animation\, spoken word\, and poetry with insightful interview footage\, this lo-fi documentary collage follows four queer people from different religious backgrounds as they explore the intersections of faith and queerness. \n\n\n\nWe meet Summeiya\, the genderfluid founder of Queer Muslim Network Toronto; Juliana\, a bisexual teacher and former Baptist Christian; Vaibhav\, a gay Hindu dancer; and Ari\, a trans Christian Orthodox drag artist. Each person talks openly about their own spiritual journey\, and their testimonies collectively open up possibilities for faith and queerness to connect rather than exist in opposition. \n\n\n\nRecognizing the complexity of individual queer faith journeys\, directors A.C. Birch and Michal Heuston have crafted an intimate work that prioritizes beauty over conflict and demonstrates that the process of reconciliation does not have to be tackled alone.

Masks will be available at the entrance. Parking is available next to the ACO building\, with additional street parking nearby. The events are held in The Living Room at the ACO\, which is wheelchair accessible. \n\n\n\nTiered ticket prices are available—if you need a free ticket or drawing materials\, please email us at TransLifeDrawing@gmail.com. \n\n\n\nHouse Rules \n\n\n\n\nPlease arrive and set up 10 minutes before we start.\n\n\n\nUpon arrival\, you will be asked to read and sign the AIDS Committee of Ottawa’s Confidentiality Agreement. DESCRIPTION:Come work on zines with us as we work on the next issue of The Dragon Flyer\, the Ottawa Trans Library’s community zine. Write\, draw\, scan\, cut\, and paste with us on our community zine or your own project\, or just come hang out with us. We are collecting stories\, jokes\, poems\, art\, and more from the trans and non-binary community in Ottawa and our friends and families. \n\n\n\nThe zine workshop is a collaborative event to discuss\, share\, and work on zines together. \n\n\n\nCome tell your story.We will provide paper\, templates\, and whatever art supplies we have. No experience necessary. All ages welcome\, children under age 13 must be accompanied by an adult. \n\n\n\nMasking the day of the event is encouraged. Accessibility note: There are two stairs at the door entrance. We have a ramp we can bring out for the door on request. There’s a washroom but it’s not large enough for many mobility devices.

DESCRIPTION:March 31st is Trans Day of Visibility! Visibility is incredibly important\, and it can also be hard. We’re proud of everyone who presents themselves openly\, or are still finding themselves! \n\n\n\nTo celebrate our wonderful community\, the library will be holding an open house celebration on Sunday\, March 30th\, from 1-4PM- with snacks available- While you snack\, check out our amazing collection of books for loan\, play board games\, and socialize with the community! \n\n\n\n*Snacks are first-come\, first-serve prioritizing the trans community – Please check our stories for updates on snack availability!* \n\n\n\nThank you so much to our friends at Moo Shu Ice Cream @mooshuicecream and Little Jo Berry’s @littlejoberrys who have generously provided delicious snacks\, and have consistently supported the library and the Ottawa trans community! \n\n\n\nVegan and gluten-free options will be available!And thank you to the good folks of @gendereveal who popularized the idea of Trans Day of Snack. \n\n\n\n*Who is eligible for snacks? * \n\n\n\nIf you identify under the trans and/or non-binary umbrella\, you’re welcome! We additionally encourage all allies and local community members to come drop in to learn about our materials and space =) \n\n\n\nWe’ll have coffee and a couple spreads showing off some favorite books of the teams for those curious about where to start! \n\n\n\n*Accessibility: * \n\n\n\nThe library has 2 steps up to the door\, a ramp is available upon request which goes out to the end of the sidewalk . \n\n\n\nMasking is expected when not eating or drinking\, however please be aware that snacking is a higher-risk activity by nature.
