SUMMARY:A Queer's Guide to Spiritual Living
DESCRIPTION:Blending zine-inspired animation\, spoken word\, and poetry with insightful interview footage\, this lo-fi documentary collage follows four queer people from different religious backgrounds as they explore the intersections of faith and queerness. \n\n\n\nWe meet Summeiya\, the genderfluid founder of Queer Muslim Network Toronto; Juliana\, a bisexual teacher and former Baptist Christian; Vaibhav\, a gay Hindu dancer; and Ari\, a trans Christian Orthodox drag artist. Each person talks openly about their own spiritual journey\, and their testimonies collectively open up possibilities for faith and queerness to connect rather than exist in opposition. \n\n\n\nRecognizing the complexity of individual queer faith journeys\, directors A.C. Birch and Michal Heuston have crafted an intimate work that prioritizes beauty over conflict and demonstrates that the process of reconciliation does not have to be tackled alone.

We aim to create a unique\, empowering space where the trans community can come together to create art. \n\n\n\nSpecial thanks to our amazing partners at the AIDS Committee of Ottawa (ACO) for hosting us in their space. \n\n\n\nAccessibility \n\n\n\nTo ensure a safe and inclusive environment\, masks are required for all participants. Masks will be available at the entrance. Parking is available next to the ACO building\, with additional street parking nearby. The events are held in The Living Room at the ACO\, which is wheelchair accessible. \n\n\n\nTiered ticket prices are available—if you need a free ticket or drawing materials\, please email us at TransLifeDrawing@gmail.com. \n\n\n\nHouse Rules \n\n\n\n\nPlease arrive and set up 10 minutes before we start.\n\n\n\nUpon arrival\, you will be asked to read and sign the AIDS Committee of Ottawa’s Confidentiality Agreement. As the ACO provides therapeutic services\, maintaining confidentiality is crucial. DESCRIPTION:This in-person session is open exclusively to the trans community\, includingnon-binary and 2-Spirit people\, aged 18+. Featuring nude trans models\, our monthly sessions focus on celebrating and representing trans bodies. We aim to create a unique\, empowering space where the trans community and allies can come together to create art. \n\n\n\nSpecial thanks to our amazing partners at @acottawa for hosting us in their space. \n\n\n\nAccessibility \n\n\n\nTo ensure a safe and inclusive environment\, masks are required for all participants. Masks will be available at the entrance. Parking is available next to the ACO building\, with additional street parking nearby. The events are held in The Living Room at the ACO\, which is wheelchair accessible. \n\n\n\nTiered ticket prices are available—if you need a free ticket or drawing materials\, please email us at TransLifeDrawing@gmail.com. \n\n\n\nHouse Rules \n\n\n\n\nPlease arrive and set up 10 minutes before we start.\n\n\n\nUpon arrival\, you will be asked to read and sign the AIDS Committee of Ottawa’s Confidentiality Agreement. As the ACO provides therapeutic services\, maintaining confidentiality is crucial. If you’d like to review the agreement ahead of time\, please reach out.\n\n\n\nNo photography or recording is allowed. Violating this rule will result in an immediate lifetime ban.\n\n\n\nNo pronoun assumptions! Use each other’s names unless told otherwise.\n\n\n\n\nTickets are required for each attendee and are non-refundable.
