Research Opportunities

Le français à suivre

Research can help improve the health and wellness of guys into guys. It can inform policy, help service providers increase their ability to care for GBT2Q guys, and provide a way for our community to feel heard.

The purpose of this webpage is to direct community members to projects that may be of interest to them. This page is updated frequently, so check back often.

Disclaimer: This page is for informational purposes only. The external research projects listed have been approved by each institutions' respective ethics boards. Any questions or concerns should be directed to the project lead that is listed for each study.

The Investigaytors is a queer guys' health research program based out of CRUISElab (at UofT's Faculty of Social Work), and is supported by the OHTN and Universities Without Walls. Normally we're focused in Toronto, but this year we're going online and Ontario-wide. One of the major goals of the program is to develop research skills in young queer guys through hands-on experience. For example, last year, with the guidance of the mentorship team, participants formed research questions related to their interests, and analyzed and presented data from the Sex Now Survey. However, no research experience is necessary to be a part of the Investigaytors! The program is open to gay, bi, 2-spirit, and queer guys in Ontario ages 18-29. We are interested in building a community of guys with different backgrounds and experiences, and we strongly welcome guys with disabilities, who are living with HIV, QTBIPOC folks, and queer guys across the spectrum and from all over the province. In par Also, if it would be of use, I have attached two Investigaytors promotional images, and here are some links to more information about the program: https://www.cruiselab.ca/the-investigaytors/ http://www.cruiselab.ca/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/Investigaytors-Description-2.pdf And the application form for the next cohort, starting Sept.15th: https://forms.gle/h86awZLYYjQR5LKPA or bit.ly/2MAlBh5 Applications close on Sept. 11th
