It’s about a 5-minute walk from the nearest stop for the 14\, and a 10-minute walk from Parliament Station (Line 1 of the O-train). There are also several paid parking lots and garages within walking distance. SUMMARY:Ottawa Gay Garden Society AGM
DESCRIPTION:Did you know that The Ottawa Gay Garden Society is run by a group of volunteers? More specifically\, did you know that there is an official “Board of Directors” (~ooh fancy!) that helps organize the events\, make posters\, and in general does the admin work of this group? Well\, now you know! \n\n\n\nEvery Spring we have an Annual General Meeting (AGM) and we elect some of our members to also become members of the Board. If you or someone you know is looking to get more involved with this group\, become a nominee! \n\n\n\nOur AGM is happening later this month (May 19th 7:30pm). But before the AGM\, we are asking interested individuals to put their names forward on our OGGS nominee document (more details through the link below) which will stay open until May 10th. Voting will take place the week of May 11th to May 18th. \n\n\n\nAt the AGM\, we’ll announce the new board and provide updates about this group and our gardening projects this year. The AGM is open to everyone and will be held online (via zoom). \n\n\n\nBE NOT AFRAID! Everyone is welcome to apply\, and all gardening skill levels are welcome. The time commitment is low (a few hours a month)\, and no experience is necessary; ambition and effort are the qualities we need! The main duties are: applying to grants\, brainstorming and organizing events (Garden tours\, botanical paint nights\, etc)\, buying equipment (plants and tools) for our gardening meet-ups\, and environmental outreach & advocacy. There’s no pressure to stay on if life’s commitments and priorities shift. It’s fun I promise! Application details through the link below 😀
