DESCRIPTION:Come ready to sing! In this interactive concert\, Tone Cluster and All Voices queer choirs will lead the audience in singing songs of protest and justice\, as well as perform some choral numbers. Joining us for this event will be Kimberly Waigwa\, the Artistic Director of Minnesota’s One Voice Chorus!  \n\n\n\nThe concert will be approx. 75 mins\, with a short intermission.  \n\n\n\nThe venue is First Unitarian\, which is a wheelchair accessible space and has gender neutral single stall washrooms in addition to multiple stall gendered washrooms. Seating is cushioned wooden pews. The space is secular in nature.  \n\n\n\nFree parking is available on site and there are nearby bus stops. Featuring nude trans models\, our monthly sessions focus on celebrating and representing trans bodies. This session is perfect for beginners and experienced creatives alike\, offering hands-on exploration of one of the earliest photographic printing techniques. \n\n\n\nIn addition to the traditional cyanotype process\, this class will introduce special tea toning technique: \n\n\n\n\nPrint Bleaching with washing soda\n\n\n\nToning with different types of tea for varied hues\n\n\n\nFloral-themed compositions using photo negatives\, pressed flowers\, and stencils\n\n\n\n\nSchedule:6:00 pm – 6:15pm Arriving and Settling in6:15 pm – 6:30pm Introduction and Presentation6:30pm – 8:30pm Hands on Learning8:30pm – 9:00pm Extra-time to finish projects \n\n\n\nBonus Community Art Project: \n\n\n\nEach participant will also create a mini 2×2 cyanotype piece\, which will NOT be a take-home item. The process is environmentally safe\, but we will take precautions: \n\n\n\n\nAvoid direct skin contact with the solution; wash with soap and water if needed.\n\n\n\nWashing soda (used for bleaching) should be handled carefully to avoid skin irritation.\n\n\n\nToning solutions (various teas) are non-toxic and safe to use.\n\n\n\nGloves and handling tools (tongs/clippers) will be available for added safety.\n\n\n\n\nFrequently Asked Questions\n\n\n\nDo I need to prepare anything before the workshop?No preparation is required! DESCRIPTION:Karaoke this month is themed around love songs that especially focus on friendship\, chosen family\, queerplatonic relationships\, and self-love. However\, you can also absolutely choose other songs outside of the theme if you need. This is an all ages event. Children twelve years of age or younger need to be accompanied by an adult. Minors (ages 13-17) will need to provide an emergency contact.  \n\n\n\nWe’ll be using Youtube karaoke videos on a TV screen or projector screen. In addition\, we have two microphones attached to a separate sound system. You can sing in a group\, be in a duet\, or go solo! When you have your song(s) decided\, you can write them down with your name\, or tell Lukayo\, and you’ll be put on the list. \n\n\n\nRegistration is needed for security reasons\, access needs\, and food requirements in case we provide snacks for the evening.  \n\n\n\nDeadline for Registration: 3pm on Wed March 19th. \n\n\n\nIf you do not register before the deadline\, you might be turned away at the door. The exterior doors are automatic\, and the door to the studio is manual. \n\n\n\nThere are accessible washrooms on the same floor. The (gendered) washrooms are shared with the whole floor but after hours it’s unlikely anyone else will be on site. Use whichever suits you.
