DESCRIPTION:A two-day workshop with Susie Showers \n\n\n\nFriday September 5th 6PM-9PM \n\n\n\nSaturday September 6th 4PM-6PM \n\n\n\nPlease note\, you must have attended Friday’s class to be eligible to attend Saturday’s class. \n\n\n\nHave more fun with accessibility in kink for neurodivergent and neurotypical individuals\, couples\, and polycules.  \n\n\n\nPerhaps the play you’re engaging in – or avoiding – is creating discomfort or overwhelm for you or your partners. Or maybe you know exactly what you need to feel comfortable\, but play feels rigid or uninspired. Join this two-part play lab with a certified mental health & relationship counsellor to explore the benefits of kink\, power play and fetish in your relationships. \n\n\n\nYou’ll be supported to explore… \n\n\n\n\nWhy kink feels so good\, based on how your brain learns and communicates\n\n\n\nFeel the difference between feeling unsafe and feelings of discomfort from avoidance\, overstimulation\, and dissociation \n\n\n\nConnect your unique access needs to roles and activities in BDSM \n\n\n\nCreate scenes and aftercare plans for collaborative connection \n\n\n\n\nIn the first part you will explore challenges and support needs. Bring your questions\, your struggles\, your wins! In the second day you’ll be loosely guided to create a scene honouring the play style for your neurotype to satisfy you and your partners\, and find creative ways to meet your accessibility needs. You don’t need to be in an ongoing relational dynamic to attend\, all that’s required is curiosity to understand yourself and other people.  \n\n\n\nDay 1: \n\n\n\n\nAfter settling in we name common challenges in kinky play and intimacy for neurodivergent folks.\n\n\n\nThis channels into support needs these challenges may be pointing towards.\n\n\n\nWe play with the difference between feeling unsafe and feeling uncomfortable in relationship\, and bring curiosity to discomfort. \n\n\n\nThere will be a bit of homework to take with you so you’re prepared well for the practical part. \n\n\n\n\nDay 2: \n\n\n\n\nConnect support needs to tools including kinky behaviours and activities \n\n\n\nPlan out a scene including negotiation and aftercare for everyone involved \n\n\n\n\nNote: This is not a 101 intro to BDSM\, so prior knowledge of basic kink negotiation\, safety and consent are expected before joining. \n\n\n\nTickets are sold per person and are provide access to the event for both Friday and Saturday as this is a two day workshop. \n\n\n\nTickets are available on a sliding scale to promote inclusivity and accessibility. They integrate somatic techniques\, drama therapy\, sex therapy\, and DBT using a feminist trauma-informed body-based approach. They have been learning and teaching in kink communities since 2013 in London UK\, Melbourne Australia\, Toronto\, and Montreal. Queering613 is excited to bring you a new monthly event inspired by Stud Country out of LA\, featuring a half dance lesson\, half (country) dance party vibes. Let’s get hundreds of boots stomping  and Wrangler-clad hips shaking on the dance floor!  \n\n\n\n Jason Bett has been teaching dance for over 17 years and knows how to get everyone moving — from jive and swing to two-step and west coast swing!  \n\n\n\nHe’s deeply involved in the queer community in Ottawa  and brings energy\, fun\, and a whole lot of  to the dance floor! \n\n\n\nWhether you’re a beginner\, intermediate\, or someone with two left feet \, Jason’s got something exciting planned just for you  \n\n\n\n Join us on September 10th — you won’t want to miss it!  \n\n\n\nWhether you’re there to dance\, hang out with friends \, or just watch the action from the sidelines \, everyone is welcome to join in on the fun! DESCRIPTION:This workshop explores some of the complexities of consent and works to expand your understanding of consent beyond the basics of “no means no\,” and enthusiastic YESes. \n\n\n\nIt is designed for those who are looking to build a more nuanced and in depth practice of consent\, negotiation\, as well as provide tools for navigating common challenges like power dynamics\, histories of trauma\, reading body language\, and coping with miscommunications and consent violations. The workshop will primarily be lecture based\, with space for audience participation and questions throughout. \n\n\n\nContent: \n\n\n\n\nNuances of negotiation\n\n\n\nSpectrum of enthusiasm\n\n\n\nBody language cues\n\n\n\nWheel of Consent\n\n\n\nNavigating power dynamics\n\n\n\nInfluence of past trauma\n\n\n\nCoping with miscommunication\, consent violations\, and regret\n\n\n\n\nThis workshop does not require a membership. \n\n\n\nTickets are sold per person. Tickets are available on a sliding scale to promote inclusivity and accessibility. She has been working as a kink provider since 2021 and began offering kink and consent workshops in 2024.  She enjoys indulging in the art of negotiation and co-creating ritualistic scenes and kinky dynamics that facilitate growth and change through somatic experiences. Miss Red delights in nerding out about communication and having long conversations that deepen mutual understandings of the self\, desire\, and relationships.
