SUMMARY:The Canadian Calls to Action: Advancing the health and rights of women living with HIV
DESCRIPTION:Presented in partnership with Simon Fraser University and the Canadian HIV Women’s Sexual and Reproductive Health Cohort Study (CHIWOS). \n\n\n\nJoin us to celebrate the launch of the Canadian Calls to Action to advance the sexual and reproductive health and rights of women living with HIV. Building on the World Health Organization’s 2017 global guidelines\, leaders from across Canada have come together to create a framework that ensures women’s rights and health remain at the forefront of Canada’s HIV response. \n\n\n\nThe Calls to Action emphasize the importance of integrating women living with HIV across research\, policy\, practice and programming. They centre Indigenous women’s perspectives\, the improvement of knowledge creation and sharing\, the enhancement of sexual and reproductive health services\, as well as the reciprocal relationship between evidence and action.  \n\n\n\nThis webinar offers a unique opportunity to connect with the organizers behind the Calls to Action and explore how these guiding principles can be implemented to create lasting\, equitable change.  \n\n\n\nModerator: Shriya Hari\, CATIE \n\n\n\nSpeakers: \n\n\n\n\nWangari Tharao\, MEd\, Women’s Health in Women’s Hands\n\n\n\nElder Sheila Nyman\, MSW \n\n\n\nAngela Kaida\, PhD\, Simon Fraser University\n\n\n\nMona Loutfy\, MD\, FRCPC\, MPH\, Women’s College Hospital\n\n\n\nManjulaa Narasimhan\, PhD\, World Health Organization \n\n\n\nMelissa Morris\, University of Manitoba
