SUMMARY:Making Your Voice Heard: Using Mainstream Media for Queer Advocacy
DESCRIPTION:It’s becoming harder to get queer perspectives into mainstream media\, but media remains one of the best (free) ways of getting our perspectives out there. Join Queer Momentum’s executive director Fae Johnstone – one of Canada’s most frequent queer commentators – for an interactive session on how to meaningfully engage media in your advocacy. \n\n\n\nQueer Momentum’s Winter Webinars\n\n\n\nThrough our webinars\, we help power-up 2SLGBTQIA+ advocates and allies with training on effective advocacy\, movement-building and community organizing. These sessions are free\, and intended to help you – as an activist or ally – become a stronger advocate.  \n\n\n\nThis winter\, we’re bringing you five sessions designed and delivered by our team\, ranging from effective messaging to arts-based activism to undertaking culturally aware advocacy. We’re proud of these sessions\, and excited to share them with you. All sessions will be recorded and shared with registrants – so don’t hesitate to sign up even if you can’t make it during the time-slot.
