DESCRIPTION:Join us for a shockingly informative workshop on Electro Play with @LTX4ME \n\n\n\nYou will learn about general Electrical Play with a focus on the Violet Wand and how to safely use it in your play. \n\n\n\nThis workshop will present the fundamentals of electroplay including: \n\n\n\n\nSafety when playing with electricity\n\n\n\nThe various types of electroplay\n\n\n\nDetails on violet wands including;\n\n\n\nThe workings of a violet wand\n\n\n\nWhy and how to use a violet wand\n\n\n\nSetup and troubleshooting\n\n\n\nHow to get most of your violet wand\n\n\n\n\nThis workshop will be broken up into two parts. \n\n\n\nThe first portion of the workshop will address the theory\, while the last portion will be a mix of theory and hands on. \n\n\n\nThe time will be split between instruction and experimentation. \n\n\n\nThis class requires a partner. During the practical experimentation\, switching between giving/receiving will be available.  \n\n\n\nPrerequisites:  This is an introductory class\, so no knowledge requirements. \n\n\n\nSafety: \n\n\n\nPeople with the following conditions cannot participate: \n\n\n\nPregnant\, Heart Disease\, and electronic implants (pacemakers\, Cochlear implants). \n\n\n\nClothing: Footwear with sole (rubber or leather) for the person/s giving\, removable clothes to expose skin for the person/s receiving (at your comfort level\, it is suggested that at least the back being accessible). \n\n\n\nTickets are sold per person. Tickets are available on a sliding scale to promote inclusivity and accessibility. Please choose the ticket price that makes this event accessible to you. All ticket types provide the same access to the event. \n\n\n\nThis workshop does not require a membership. Doors will open 15 minutes before the start of the class. \n\n\n\n@LTX4ME has shocked a few hundred people in the last decade!  He began using a violet wand and other electrical toys in 2012\, presenting workshops and demos at events\, dungeons and classrooms.  Loving how the technical aspect meets the subtlety of human feedback\, the violet wand is one of his favorite toys.  He strives to present this type of play in a safe\, understandable and fun way.

DESCRIPTION:A six-week in-person workshop   \n\n\n\nWant to tell your story? Or a story? What story have you always wanted to tell?  \n\n\n\nAs Elders in the queer community\, your stories are important to be shared\, to be heard\, and to be remembered.  \n\n\n\nThis Winter/Spring session is open to folks who have never written a story and to those who have. If you have attended one of Mary Ellen’s workshops before\, you are welcome to come back and develop your storytelling skills. Mary Ellen has over thirty years of experience creating work for the stage and collaborating with people of all ages. \n\n\n\nDuring this six-week workshop\, participants will meet once a week for two hours to learn basic skills to create and tell their story. Stories can be serious or comic or a blend of both. Participants may use movement\, puppets\, music – however you want to tell your story – are all welcome! \n\n\n\nThis workshop offers an opportunity to gather\, deepen your community connections\, and create stories with the support of each other. The focus is on having FUN\, learning some new skills\, and connecting with each other. \n\n\n\nFamily and friends are invited to the final session to hear the participant’s stories. \n\n\n\nThis workshop is held in English. SUMMARY:Gender-Affirming Care Drop-In
DESCRIPTION:Our Affirm Program is excited to announce a new virtual drop-in throughout the month of March! 🏳️‍⚧️ \n\n\n\n💫 The drop-in is open to trans and gender-diverse people of all ages who want support in navigating gender-affirming care\, whatever that might look like for them. Our navigators offer free resources\, system navigation support\, peer counselling from someone with lived experience\, and peer connection opportunities. \n\n\n\nFrequent topics of support include navigating: \n\n\n\n🌷Affirming Care: accessing hormones\, surgeries\, and medical care\, connecting people to gender-affirming and peer programs\, and identifying trans-inclusive providers. \n\n\n\n🌷Affirming Contraception: trans-centered support around pregnancy prevention\, menstrual suppression\, endometriosis management\, polycystic ovarian syndrome\, and affirming contraceptive decision making. \n\n\n\n🌷Affirming Pregnancy: trans-centered discussions around pathways to parenthood\, parenting resources\, fertility preservation\, accessing abortion as a trans person\, and navigating a pregnancy as a trans person. \n\n\n\n💖 We know everyone’s journey is different and some people may be facing complex challenges in finding care. We aim to support you in finding the best options for you to find the care you are looking for. DESCRIPTION:A six-week in-person workshop   \n\n\n\nWant to tell your story? Or a story? What story have you always wanted to tell?  \n\n\n\nAs Elders in the queer community\, your stories are important to be shared\, to be heard\, and to be remembered.  \n\n\n\nThis Winter/Spring session is open to folks who have never written a story and to those who have. If you have attended one of Mary Ellen’s workshops before\, you are welcome to come back and develop your storytelling skills. Mary Ellen has over thirty years of experience creating work for the stage and collaborating with people of all ages. \n\n\n\nDuring this six-week workshop\, participants will meet once a week for two hours to learn basic skills to create and tell their story. Stories can be serious or comic or a blend of both. Participants may use movement\, puppets\, music – however you want to tell your story – are all welcome! \n\n\n\nThis workshop offers an opportunity to gather\, deepen your community connections\, and create stories with the support of each other. The focus is on having FUN\, learning some new skills\, and connecting with each other. \n\n\n\nFamily and friends are invited to the final session to hear the participant’s stories. \n\n\n\nThis workshop is held in English. The registration fee gives you access to all 6 workshop sessions from February 22 to March 29\, 2025.

Ideas for offerings can be forwarded to the program coordinator\, Stephane Gauthier at sgauthier@thegoodcompanions.ca or by telephone at (613) 236-0428 ext. 2353. \n\n\n\nOnce a month Stephane and the Saturday programing committee meet to discuss potential offerings and brainstorm new ideas and opportunities for programing. If you are interested in joining the committee\, please email your request to sgauthier@thegoodcompanions.ca. \n\n\n\n_______________ \n\n\n\nYou are welcome to participate on a trial basis for 3 Saturdays before deciding to become a Good Companions member. In this workshop we’ll show you how to safely transform everyday items into sex toys for everything from sensation play to kink\, and where to find them.
