Laylit has established its place on the scene with a signature electronic sound blending shaabi\, dabke\, mahraganat\, Arabic pop and hip-hop with contemporary\, boundary pushing dance music (techno\, breakbeat\, hyperpop…) inspired by New York and Montreal’s thriving underground clubs. Featured in multiple publications including the New York Times and Pitchfork\, Laylit recently celebrated its 5-year anniversary with a Boiler Room event in NYC and a tour across multiple North American cities. Laylit values inclusivity and unity across cultures\, languages\, dialects\, religions\, identity and sexual orientations.  \n\n\n\nACCESSIBILITY & SAFETY Gridwrks is on the ground level. DESCRIPTION:We’ll be using Youtube karaoke videos on a TV screen or projector screen. In addition\, we have two microphones attached to a separate sound system. You can sing in a group\, be in a duet\, or go solo! When you have your song(s) decided\, you can write them down with your name\, or tell Lukayo\, and you’ll be put on the list. \n\n\n\nAdvanced registration is highly encouraged if you have access needs and food requirements in case we provide snacks for the evening. DESCRIPTION:Usher in the fall season with another bold and forward-thinking edition of Pique\, coming up on September 27\, 2025 at Arts Court. Showcasing experimental and underground music\, art\, and performance\, the quarterly festival features global innovators\, local creators\, and underground legends converging in downtown Ottawa’s Arts Court complex for a single-day blowout.  \n\n\n\nTaking place indoors and outdoors across 10 stages and spaces\, Pique’s programming has something for everyone: from thought-provoking dialogues to ethereal electronic performances to multi-arts convergences\, and even puppet dance parties. Joining forces with the Ottawa International Animation Festival (OIAF) to co-produce multidisciplinary and interactive programming\, Pique brings together diverse artistic communities to explore\, experiment and connect. Animating a club\, a cinema\, theatre and dance studios with bold\, boundary-pushing presentations\, Pique offers an immersive multidisciplinary experience that transforms the Arts Court into a playground for the avant-garde.  \n\n\n\nPlus\, Topique\, the forum for the exchange of forward-thinking ideas at Pique\, returns this fall with a series of artist talks and group sessions focused on building an equitable future music industry.  \n\n\n\nWith 20+ artists and 10 stages and exhibition spaces\, indoors and outdoors\, there is so much to experience at Pique!  \n\n\n\nPique is all ages and programming is offered in an accessible building with gender-inclusive washrooms.
