The biggest villain in literary history has been portrayed as everything from pure evil to a sex symbol to a comedic flop.This show we’ll be coming in hot with excerpts from Milton to Bulgakov to escape the hell that is February in Ottawa.  \n\n\n\nWe regret that the venue is inaccessible to some people. It is on the second floor of the building and accessible only via stairs. Non-gendered washrooms are available.

Combining genres like rnb\, soul and jazz\, Ébby is inviting real lovers to an immersive experience in which listeners are encouraged to be vulnerable and wear their hearts on their sleeve. Performances are brought to you by Ébby and Whitney Mambou. \n\n\n\nBIO\n\n\n\nÉbby is a Cameroonian multidisciplinary artist\, specializing in RnB\, soul and jazz. After completing the 2024 Produced by Youth advanced program\, they have been featured in two Pieces of Us seasons\, on Luscious Creatures as a new artist and performed at QYAC Rainbow Riffs showcase.   Now\, they are working on their debut album “Lover’s Demise”\, centring a queer love tale out on Valentine’s Day. With an insistence on being heard\, Ébby is determined to leave a lasting impact on the world.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTICKETS\n\n\n\n$15 online / $20 at the door (if the event has not yet sold out online) \n\n\n\nYour ticket guarantees you a seat in the house but not necessarily a seat with a direct line of sight to the performers. We recommend coming early to snag a spot or if you need accommodations\, like a guaranteed seat for accessibility reasons\, to please email us at events@thearthousecafe.ca at least 72 hours before the event. \n\n\n\nTicket refunds or date transfers are not available. \n\n\n\nIMPORTANT ACCESSIBILITY INFO\n\n\n\nWe provide gender-neutral washrooms. The main bathroom is in the basement which is 10 steps down. We do however have a small secondary washroom in our kitchen space across the driveway that can be accessed by key. This has a 4 inch lip at the entrance and is not necessarily comfortably wheelchair accessible  in terms of space but may be useful for individuals who have other mobility issues that prevent them from using the stairs.

Laylit has established its place on the scene with a signature electronic sound blending shaabi\, dabke\, mahraganat\, Arabic pop and hip-hop with contemporary\, boundary pushing dance music (techno\, breakbeat\, hyperpop…) inspired by New York and Montreal’s thriving underground clubs.
