Over the last four years their dance parties in New York City and Montreal have carved out an unmatched place in North American nightlife\, becoming an anticipated social gathering and unique musical experience.  \n\n\n\nEach party takes you on a genre-spanning journey\, highlighting the incredible musical diversity\, depth and richness that comes out of the region. Laylit has established its place on the scene with a signature electronic sound blending shaabi\, dabke\, mahraganat\, Arabic pop and hip-hop with contemporary\, boundary pushing dance music (techno\, breakbeat\, hyperpop…) inspired by New York and Montreal’s thriving underground clubs. Featured in multiple publications including the New York Times and Pitchfork\, Laylit recently celebrated its 5-year anniversary with a tour across multiple North American cities. Laylit values inclusivity and unity across cultures\, languages\, dialects\, religions\, identity and sexual orientations.

DESCRIPTION:Inspired by the recent trending “knit-raves” (and @boo._.66‘s personal love of going out and knitting in places you’d least expect)\, we present Craftwerk! \n\n\n\nA new casual event where music lovers and crafters unite to parallel play. Whether you want to come and socialize with fellow craft lovers or just want to go mute and dance to some new music\, this event welcomes both. As the series continues\, more DJs/musicians will be invited to showcase experimental music\, so in a way\, everybody will be crafting something! Our intention is to create a safe space that is welcoming to all\, for people who want to be in community but find the typical environment of “going out” overwhelming because of socializing or sensory stimuli. For our first event\, we are keeping things nice and calm in tone with the post-holiday winter season. We will be playing some chill house and electronic music for you to sip your drink to and craft whatever your heart desires! \n\n\n\nWhat craft will you be bringing?? \n\n\n\nCraftwerk ft. I have enough craft supplies for a thousand years of dyke nights 😻 \n\n\n\nACCESS INFO: \n\n\n\nArt House has limited seating! Please email Maggie (maggiemharder@icloud.com) or DM (@maggiemayharder) if you need a guaranteed seat. \n\n\n\nArt House provides gender-neutral washrooms. There is one wheelchair accessible washroom. There is no wheelchair ramp. There is a set of 8 stairs to get into the building (7 steps\, small landing\, and then an 8th step). Once inside\, the whole cafe floor is flat\, with the exception of the small room to the side\, which is a small step down.
