DESCRIPTION:Join local drag legends to celebrate the launch of the new “Drag the Archive” exhibit – and two years of Fairy Cowboy Tours! \n\n\n\nYOU’RE INVITED – to celebrate Ottawa’s Queer History! \n\n\n\nThis event is highlighting the launch of the ‘Drag the Archive’ exhibit\, an archival photo exhibition curated by Carleton University students in partnership with the City of Ottawa Equity Team and the City of Ottawa Archives AND the two year anniversary of Fairy Cowboy Tours\, a drag-artist led tour company focused on sharing stories of Ottawa’s queer history. \n\n\n\nCome dance the night away in community and queer joy at the 27 Club (27 York St) in downtown Ottawa! Masking is encouraged and N95 masks will be available at the door. Ages 19+. \n\n\n\nFeaturing speakers from the exhibit curation team\, as well as drag performances from China Doll\, Cyril Cinder\, Morgan Mercury\, and Yeti. Over the last seven years their dance parties have carved out an unmatched place in North American and European nightlife\, becoming an anticipated social gathering and unique musical experience. With recent features in the New York Times and Pitchfork and more\, the party is now active in more than 10 cities. \n\n\n\nEach party takes you on a genre-spanning journey\, highlighting the incredible musical diversity\, depth and richness that comes out of the region. Laylit has established its place on the scene with a signature electronic sound blending shaabi\, dabke\, mahraganat\, Arabic pop and hip-hop with contemporary\, boundary pushing dance music (techno\, breakbeat\, hyperpop…) inspired by New York and Montreal’s thriving underground clubs. \n\n\n\nLaylit values inclusivity and unity across cultures\, languages\, dialects\, religions\, identity and sexual orientations.

DESCRIPTION:Kick off those winter blues with a sweet little dance party! \n\n\n\nSlide into spring with a queer dance party at The Grove featuring DJ Delpilar! Expect high-energy dance tracks and all your fave queers! \n\n\n\nGet fancy and dance with cuties! \n\n\n\nHighlights \n\n\n\n\nThis event centers people who are queer and/or trans who take covid precautions in their everyday lives. Allies who take covid precautions are also welcome but please be mindful that this is primarily a space for queer and/or trans folks. We also welcome 2SLGBTQIA+ folks who are interested in a sober-friendly space and who will respect the covid-safer protocols of this event!\n\n\n\nMask mandatory event (KN95 or better). Masks are provided at the door and required before entry.\n\n\n\nThis is a substance-free and sober-friendly event. Guests are welcome to consume before or after the event\, but please be mindful of intoxication levels.\n\n\n\nSliding scale tickets.\n\n\n\nThe canteen is open for non-alcoholic beverages. Please enjoy in the hall.\n\n\n\n\nAccessibility Details \n\n\n\n\nPlease avoid wearing anything scented.\n\n\n\nVarious kinds of seats are available\, see below.\n\n\n\nYou’re encouraged to bring your earplugs\, and some are available for free onsite.\n\n\n\nNo strobes/flashing lights\n\n\n\nThe building has an elevator\n\n\n\nThe door to The Grove is not automatic.\n\n\n\n\nCOVID safety \n\n\n\n\nMasks mandatory: KN95 or better.\n\n\n\n3 air purifiers in use.\n\n\n\nA CO2 monitor is available and visible throughout the event.\n\n\n\nThe HVAC system will be in operation\, as well as 3 air purifiers.
