DESCRIPTION:We’re kicking off Pride month with an afternoon party at @TheGrove featuring @djdelpilar! Expect high-energy dance tracks and all your fave queers! \n\n\n\nTea dances were events organized on Sunday afternoons in the US gay community\, originating in New York in the 1950s and 1960s. The original dances included tea services rather than alcohol as it was illegal to serve alcohol to queer and trans people. To lower the chances of a police raid\, these dances were held on Sunday afternoons and served non-alcoholic drinks. \n\n\n\nGet fancy and dance with cuties! Tea dances were one of the only places where people could express themselves\, so we fully encourage outfits! \n\n\n\nHighlights \n\n\n\n\nThis event centers people who are queer and/or trans who take covid precautions in their everyday lives. Allies who take covid precautions are also welcome but please be mindful that this is primarily a space for queer and/or trans folks. We also welcome 2SLGBTQIA+ folks who are interested in a sober-friendly space and who will respect the covid-safer protocols of this event!\n\n\n\nMask mandatory event (KN95 or better). Masks are provided at the door and required before entry\n\n\n\nThis is a substance-free and sober-friendly event. Guests are welcome to consume before or after the event\, but please be mindful of intoxication levels.\n\n\n\nSliding scale tickets.\n\n\n\nThe canteen is open for non-alcoholic beverages. Join us for our Beach Skills and Drills Program led by James Battiston\, former professional volleyball player and member of the Canadian Beach National Team. James has coached for several years with the Mavericks Volleyball Club as well as 15+ years at Madawaska Volleyball Camp.   \n\n\n\nWhether you’re new to beach volleyball or a seasoned player\, we have something for you!  Join us at the RA Centre on Saturday mornings where James will bring his expert guidance to teach you fundamentals or take you to the next level with specific skills.  \n\n\n\nThis is an all-encompassing session that looks at strategies for getting your opponents to do what you want them to do. We will work on creating a serve/defensive strategy in the 2-on-2 beach game that funnels the defense to work with your strengths. On serve receive\, we will work on creating the best situation for a successful side out. For this session\, participants are expected to have basic ball control (being able to forearm or hand pass a ball to a target) to allow for meaningful rallies.

This workshop draws on some of the topics addressed in Muse’s popular ‘Art & Science of Female Ejaculation’ workshop while delving deeper into the specifics surrounding the mysteries of feminine pleasure. We will discuss the ethereal & transcendent nature of orgasm\, female ejaculation\, psychedelic enhancements and the varieties of described ecstatic experience throughout history within their cultural\, historical and political contexts.

It can involve fear of the dying process (often a fear of pain or discomfort)\, fear of the afterlife (or lack thereof)\, fear of being forgotten\, fear that life is meaningless\, and fear of missing out! This month we will be talking about our fears around our own deaths\, how we manage them\, and how we don’t!  \n\n\n\nQueer Death Salon is a community space for all 2SLGBTQIA+ people to come together to discuss death\, dying and grief. Pre-ordering your food not only will ensure we have enough food for you during the tournament\, but you get a discount by pre-ordering!\n\n\n\nPlayoff finishes by 5:00 PM\n\n\n\nTeam registration: $120/team of up to 5 players\n\n\n\nRosters must be full and confirmed by: August 8\, 2025\n\n\n\nLevel of play: Intermediate/Advanced 4v4\n\n\n\nRain or shine event. If there is inclement weather\, we will manage the situation the day of the event.\n\n\n\n\nFormat: \n\n\n\n\nNet height will be between 2.30-2.35m.\n\n\n\nEach team plays 5 single pool games\, 3 playoff double-elimination brackets made (upper\, middle and lower)\, each team plays up to 8 playoff games: 1 game winner bracket\, 1 game loser bracket. \n\n\n\nEach team will play between 7-13 games throughout the day. \n\n\n\nCan play more games for fun if the team is eliminated from the playoffs as courts will be available as teams get eliminated.  \n\n\n\nAll games start 0-0 and capped at 21 points. \n\n\n\nOne 30-second time out per game. \n\n\n\nSwitch sides when the first team reaches 10 points. In order to stay on schedule and be fair for weather conditions\, switching sides at 10 points is highly encouraged. \n\n\n\nCan volley any first contact. \n\n\n\nNo open hand tips allowed.\n\n\n\nBlock counts as first contact for the defending team if the ball then enters the defending team’s space. The blocker may play the ball again as the defending team’s second contact.\n\n\n\nNo mandatory rotation. Server order must be followed. \n\n\n\nServer is a back row player. The back row player may not play the ball at or above the top of the net to the opponent’s side while standing on or in front of the 3m line. For efficiency and to avoid confusion\, this rule is mandatory.\n\n\n\nAny player may volley the ball over the net (forwards or backwards) to the opponent’s side provided the ball travels along the trajectory where the players shoulders are facing. NO tricky volleys sideways over the net.\n\n\n\nYour team will be assigned to keep score on a court. We encourage your teammates to take turns so each of you can snack\, hydrate\, and re-apply sunscreen as needed.\n\n\n\n\nOther notes : \n\n\n\n\nA lunch break will be built into the schedule.\n\n\n\nAs Shefford Park has limited food options\, PCV-FVC will have food options available including: beef burgers\, vegetarian burgers\, hotdogs\, chips\, water\, and Gatorade.

She has contributed to the Toronto & West New York Kiki scene & Mainstream ballroom scene since 2021. \n\n\n\nHer love of Ballroom and it’s patrons\, is not just apparent on the floor as a competitor\, but as a cultivator of talent and craft\, hosting 2 “Swap Shop’s” for community effect up cycling and a “Body Shop” centring body confidence! Her vision is to continue to explore and uplift the beauty within Ballroom nationwide. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLegendary Father Cassidy Pinklady / Nova Monroe \n\n\n\nLegendary Father Cassidy Pinklady / Nova Monroe is a great influence in Toronto’s ballroom scene\, Cassidy entered ballroom in 2011 and has been in five Kiki houses and one mainstream. He joined the House of Pinklady in 2019\, rose to Father in 2023\, and earned his Legendary title in 2024. Known for dramatic performance\, stunts\, and his evolution from Schoolboy to Everyday Realness\, Cassidy is Realness with a Twist. A leader\, mover\, and mentor\, he emphasizes stretching\, breathing\, and staying humble while doing his part for the community. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLegendary Godmother Moohk Louboutin Miyake Mugler \n\n\n\nLegendary Godmother Moohk Louboutin Miyake Mugler\, Montreal’s Bizarre Queen\, has been active in the ballroom scene since 2017. A force in Canadian Ballroom for over 13 years\, Tamar is one of only two recognized mainstream Legends in the country\, internationally celebrated for her precision\, presence\, and enduring excellence in the Realness category. \n\n\n\nAs the Legendary Canadian Mother of the International Iconic House of Miyake-Mugler\, Tamar has raised the standard of excellence within Canadian Ballroom\, helping shape a new generation of top-tier talent. Her leadership is rooted in a sharp eye for detail\, old-school Ballroom fundamentals\, and a deep commitment to legacy. \n\n\n\nTamar is the revered Matriarch of the Carter family\, known for being a “stern set” who leads with integrity\, accountability\, and unwavering love. Her influence pushes her children to realize their full potential\, not only in Ballroom\, but in their everyday lives. \n\n\n\nTamar is also the co-founder of FUNCTION\, a groundbreaking Ballroom-first platform for culture\, stories\, and events. Since its official launch in 2022\, FUNCTION has produced some of the largest balls in Canadian history and distributed over $250\,000 to BIPOC and queer artists.
