SUMMARY:QBC Bike-Packing Trip
DESCRIPTION:Join us June 13-15 for another great Bikepacking weekend! This will be the most relaxing of the three overnight trips planned for the year. \n\n\n\nWe will meet Friday evening at 6:00pm to ride from downtown to Wesley Clover Campground. We will then spend Saturday relaxing\, with a possible day trip\, as well as a provided dinner\, lastly biking back downtown Sunday after breakfast. \n\n\n\nThis is great option for folks who are new to bikepacking or camping. Low intensity\, shorter distance\, and a nice relaxed weekend. \n\n\n\nCost is $55 for for 2 nights of camping and Saturday dinner. Spots are limited so sign up before the June 6 deadline through the link below.

She’ll share behind the scenes insights into her writing process and her work and take questions from the audience. A book signing will follow the program. \n\n\n\nThis event is made possible thanks to the generosity of the Friends of the Ottawa Public Library Association. \n\n\n\nAuthor Biography: \n\n\n\nEmily Austin is the author of three novels (“We Could Be Rats”\, “Interesting Facts about Space”\, and “Everyone In This Room Will Someday Be Dead”)\, and one poetry collection (“Gay Girl Prayers.”) “Everyone in This Room” was long listed for The Stephen Leacock Memorial Medal for Humour\, shortlisted for the Amazon First Novel Award\, and a finalist for the Ottawa Book Awards. “Interesting Facts About Space” has been nominated for the 2025 Forest of Reading Evergreen Award and long listed for The Stephen Leacock Memorial Medal for Humour. It was also the #1 bestselling LGBTQIA+ book in Canada and the most circulated LGBTQIA+ book in Canadian libraries in 2024. Emily was born in St. Thomas\, Ontario\, and she currently resides in Ottawa / the territory of the Anishinaabe Algonquin Nation.
