SUMMARY:Afternoon Tea Dance
DESCRIPTION:We’re kicking off Pride month with an afternoon party at @TheGrove featuring @djdelpilar! Expect high-energy dance tracks and all your fave queers! \n\n\n\nTea dances were events organized on Sunday afternoons in the US gay community\, originating in New York in the 1950s and 1960s. The original dances included tea services rather than alcohol as it was illegal to serve alcohol to queer and trans people. To lower the chances of a police raid\, these dances were held on Sunday afternoons and served non-alcoholic drinks. \n\n\n\nGet fancy and dance with cuties! Tea dances were one of the only places where people could express themselves\, so we fully encourage outfits! \n\n\n\nHighlights \n\n\n\n\nThis event centers people who are queer and/or trans who take covid precautions in their everyday lives. Allies who take covid precautions are also welcome but please be mindful that this is primarily a space for queer and/or trans folks. We also welcome 2SLGBTQIA+ folks who are interested in a sober-friendly space and who will respect the covid-safer protocols of this event!\n\n\n\nMask mandatory event (KN95 or better). Masks are provided at the door and required before entry\n\n\n\nThis is a substance-free and sober-friendly event. Guests are welcome to consume before or after the event\, but please be mindful of intoxication levels.\n\n\n\nSliding scale tickets.\n\n\n\nThe canteen is open for non-alcoholic beverages. Please enjoy in the hall.\n\n\n\n\nEvent Details \n\n\n\nWhen: Sunday\, August 3 from 3-6 pm. \n\n\n\nWhere: The Grove Studio\, details below. \n\n\n\nAccessibility Details \n\n\n\n\nPlease avoid wearing anything scented.\n\n\n\nVarious kinds of seats are available\, see below.\n\n\n\nYou’re encouraged to bring your earplugs and some are available for free onsite.\n\n\n\nNo strobes/flashing lights\n\n\n\nThe building has an elevator.\n\n\n\nThe door to The Grove is not automatic.\n\n\n\n\nCOVID safety \n\n\n\n\nMasks mandatory: KN95 or better.\n\n\n\n3 air purifiers in use.\n\n\n\nA CO2 monitor is available and visible throughout the event.\n\n\n\nThe HVAC system will be in operation\, as well as 3 air purifiers. There are automatic doors on the outside of the building but the door to the studio is manual. \n\n\n\nThere are accessible washrooms on the 2nd floor. The (gendered) washrooms are shared with the whole floor but after hours it’s unlikely anyone else will be on site. \n\n\n\nThe studio is over 800 square feet of open space with an 11 ft ceiling \n\n\n\nFor seating\, we have several options – \n\n\n\nWhite folding chairs (max 225lbs /102 kg static) \n\n\n\nBlue stacking chairs ( max 660lbs / 299.3 kg static) \n\n\n\nBrown couch (max 700lbs/317.5 kg static) \n\n\n\nRustic brown stools (max 264.5lbs/ 120 kg static)

DESCRIPTION:The Battle of Ontario returns to TD Place on Sunday\, August 3 as Atlético Ottawa hosts York United FC (KO 4pm ET). To kick-off Capital Pride Month\, we are hosting our 5th annual Soccer For Everyone Match\, presented by VW. \n\n\n\nAtlético continues to thrill crowds across the country with an exciting brand of attacking soccer\, leading the goal scoring charts with Canadian forward Samuel Salter in pole position for the Golden Boot. \n\n\n\nThe youth revolution\, under-pinned by experienced stars such as Nathan Ingham\, Manu Aparicio and Alberto Zapater\, continues to reign in red and white. No other teams has given more opportunities to young Canadian players this season than Ottawa. The future is bright in the nation’s capital. \n\n\n\nTo celebrate Capital Pride Month\, Atlético Ottawa and VW are supporting five local 2SLGBTQ+ organizations. On the concourse you will find: \n\n\n\n\nCapital Pride\n\n\n\nCapital Rainbow Refuge\n\n\n\nTen Oaks Project\n\n\n\nBig Brothers and Big Sisters of Ottawa (PRISM Program)\n\n\n\nNewly formed Ottawa Pride FC\n\n\n\n\nWe are running a fundraising imitative\, with $5 of every ticket purchased with the code “PRIDEFC” going straight back to promoting inclusivity soccer in Ottawa.  \n\n\n\nThe upper log cabin will be vibrant Pride Zone with free VW branded bucket hats given out to the first 500 fans and a massive Rainbow Pride Flag will be on the field display pre-match along with a colourful smoke demonstration brought to you by Capital City Supporters Group (CCSG). \n\n\n\nLet’s celebrate professional soccer\, the Beautiful Game and inclusivity – together – at the Soccer For Everyone Match on Sunday\, August 3. \n\n\n\nVAMOS ATLETI!
