SUMMARY:Minkpoor's Pop-Up
DESCRIPTION:Swing by Maxwell’s for an exciting art/clothing sale pop up\, Saturday the 6th of September! \n\n\n\nPLACE: 2-77 Rue WrightTIME: 9AM-7PM \n\n\n\nACCESSIBILITY: The apartment is walk-up with stairs. There is railing on both sides but the right one is wobbly. Please knock/ring the bell to be let in. \n\n\n\nMASKING: This is a mask mandatory event\, and there will be masks available at the door. Please feel free to bring your own KN95 or N95 respirator\, but less effective medical or cloth masks won’t be accepted. \n\n\n\nTRANSIT: This pop up is a block away from a bus station and it is super easy to get to it from downtown. \n\n\n\nPAY: The event is cash and e-transfer only\, but cash is much preferred. \n\n\n\nTATTOO RAFFLE: Everyone who visits the pop up has the chance to win a FREE TATTOO or a super discounted one! I will have 10 designs to choose from\, and tickets are $5 each\, or $10 for 3. The winners will be picked the night of the event and will hear from me through DMs. \n\n\n\nTHRIFTED CLOTHING: I have a ton of clothing that I’ve grown out of or don’t fit in. Most of it will be very cheap\, in $5 or $10 bins with some never worn pieces individually priced. Unfortunately the size range is only S-XL\, as these are all my old clothes. \n\n\n\nMINKPOOR CUSTOM CLOTHES: Sizes S-3XL\, I’ve made a bunch of new garments for this pop up! If you like my customized clothing feel free to ask about getting something of yours printed/bleached on\, or buy a piece of clothing and leave it with me to customize! \n\n\n\nSHOES: I have a handful of super cool shoes/boots for sale\, all sizes 6-7W\, some brand new. If you know someone with small feet like mine let them know to check it out! \n\n\n\nART: I’ll have the regular types of art I usually sell at markets – original drawings/ paintinas. lino prints\, mystery print bags\, and face doodles made on the spot for you! DESCRIPTION:A two-day workshop with Susie Showers \n\n\n\nFriday September 5th 6PM-9PM \n\n\n\nSaturday September 6th 4PM-6PM \n\n\n\nPlease note\, you must have attended Friday’s class to be eligible to attend Saturday’s class. \n\n\n\nHave more fun with accessibility in kink for neurodivergent and neurotypical individuals\, couples\, and polycules.  \n\n\n\nPerhaps the play you’re engaging in – or avoiding – is creating discomfort or overwhelm for you or your partners. Or maybe you know exactly what you need to feel comfortable\, but play feels rigid or uninspired. Join this two-part play lab with a certified mental health & relationship counsellor to explore the benefits of kink\, power play and fetish in your relationships. \n\n\n\nYou’ll be supported to explore… \n\n\n\n\nWhy kink feels so good\, based on how your brain learns and communicates\n\n\n\nFeel the difference between feeling unsafe and feelings of discomfort from avoidance\, overstimulation\, and dissociation \n\n\n\nConnect your unique access needs to roles and activities in BDSM \n\n\n\nCreate scenes and aftercare plans for collaborative connection \n\n\n\n\nIn the first part you will explore challenges and support needs. Bring your questions\, your struggles\, your wins! In the second day you’ll be loosely guided to create a scene honouring the play style for your neurotype to satisfy you and your partners\, and find creative ways to meet your accessibility needs. You don’t need to be in an ongoing relational dynamic to attend\, all that’s required is curiosity to understand yourself and other people.  \n\n\n\nDay 1: \n\n\n\n\nAfter settling in we name common challenges in kinky play and intimacy for neurodivergent folks.\n\n\n\nThis channels into support needs these challenges may be pointing towards.\n\n\n\nWe play with the difference between feeling unsafe and feeling uncomfortable in relationship\, and bring curiosity to discomfort. \n\n\n\nThere will be a bit of homework to take with you so you’re prepared well for the practical part. \n\n\n\n\nDay 2: \n\n\n\n\nConnect support needs to tools including kinky behaviours and activities \n\n\n\nPlan out a scene including negotiation and aftercare for everyone involved \n\n\n\n\nNote: This is not a 101 intro to BDSM\, so prior knowledge of basic kink negotiation\, safety and consent are expected before joining. \n\n\n\nTickets are sold per person and are provide access to the event for both Friday and Saturday as this is a two day workshop. \n\n\n\nTickets are available on a sliding scale to promote inclusivity and accessibility. Please choose the ticket price that makes this event accessible to you. All ticket types provide the same access to the event. \n\n\n\nThis workshop does not require a membership. Doors will open 15 minutes before the start of the class. \n\n\n\nSusie Showers is a queer nonbinary AuDHD creative arts therapist and relationship counsellor in Montreal. They support queer and trans individuals and relational dynamics explore challenges and curiosities around gender\, sexuality\, kink\, and polyamoury. They integrate somatic techniques\, drama therapy\, sex therapy\, and DBT using a feminist trauma-informed body-based approach. They have been learning and teaching in kink communities since 2013 in London UK\, Melbourne Australia\, Toronto\, and Montreal. SUMMARY:Laylit 7-Year Anniversary Tour
DESCRIPTION:Laylit\, the acclaimed platform and collective celebrating music and artists from the Arab and SWANA (South West Asia and North Africa) region and its diaspora\, is bringing its seventh anniversary tour to Club SAW in Ottawa on Saturday\, September 6\, 2025\, presented in partnership with Debaser.  \n\n\n\nThe anniversary stop will feature an electrifying lineup: New York City-based Arianna Danae\, Ottawa’s own DJ Zraa\, and Laylit resident DJs Nadim Maghzal and MNSA. Together\, they will deliver a vibrant dance party that pushes musical boundaries while fostering queer community connection.  \n\n\n\n19+ event / licensed  \n\n\n\nClub SAW is a wheelchair accessible space. The indoor venue is accessible by a ramp from street level\, the doors are automatic\, and bathrooms are wheelchair accessible (including adult-sized change tables). Bathrooms are also gender neutral.  \n\n\n\nFree harm reduction supplies\, including masks and earplugs\, are available at the box office.
