DESCRIPTION:Looking for a fun\, queer chat with people your age? Want to just hang out\, eat some snacks and meet new friends? Are you interested in having some discussions about sexuality\, identity\, homophobia and your personal experience? YSB is proud to offer Spectrum\, a program for 2SLGBTQ+ youth in Ottawa! \n\n\n\nJoin Spectrum on Instagram \n\n\n\nSpectrum meets every Thursday from 5-7 p.m. upstairs at our 147 Besserer St location. \n\n\n\nHow to access the program\n\n\n\nWe provide workshops\, discussion groups\, and art collaborations\, as well as counselling services\, peer mentoring\, and primary care resources. \n\n\n\nSpectrum can help with challenges like depression\, anxiety and suicide while also offering practical support to navigate the mental health\, housing and educational systems. \n\n\n\nSpectrum is also a safe space for youth to: \n\n\n\n\nMeet new people\n\n\n\nEngage in workshops and discussions\n\n\n\nAccess services like showers\, laundry\, computers\, telephones\n\n\n\nGet referrals\n\n\n\nAccess trained counsellors and peer mentors if youth need to talk\n\n\n\nJust hang out!\n\n\n\n\nActivities include: \n\n\n\n\nAn introduction to our space and expectations\n\n\n\nA queer current events discussion\n\n\n\nActivities\n\n\n\nAccess to snack during group\, showers\, laundry\, harm reduction supplies\, telephone\, internet\n\n\n\nAccess to crisis counsellors from YSB and/or our in-house counsellor from Centretown Community Health Centre\n\n\n\nA relaxed space where youth can be out and proud!\n\n\n\n\nContact: Kate PoirierEmail: kpoirier@ysb.ca

SUMMARY:Life drawing with the Ottawa Trans Library
DESCRIPTION:A life drawing event by and for members of the trans community. \n\n\n\nThis in-person class is open exclusively to the trans community\, including non-binary and 2-Spirit people\, aged 18+. We aim to create a unique\, empowering space where the trans community can come together to create art. \n\n\n\nSpecial thanks to our amazing partners at the AIDS Committee of Ottawa (ACO) for hosting us in their space. \n\n\n\nAccessibility\n\n\n\nTo ensure a safe and inclusive environment\, masks are required for all participants. Masks will be available at the entrance. Parking is available next to the ACO building\, with additional street parking nearby. The events are held in The Living Room at the ACO\, which is wheelchair accessible. \n\n\n\nTiered ticket prices are available—if you need a free ticket or drawing materials\, please email us at cangrant@translibrary.ca or joan.archer@translibrary.ca.  \n\n\n\nHouse Rules\n\n\n\nPlease arrive and set up 10 minutes before we start. \n\n\n\nUpon arrival\, you will be asked to read and sign the AIDS Committee of Ottawa’s Confidentiality Agreement. As the ACO provides therapeutic services\, maintaining confidentiality is crucial. If you’d like to review the agreement ahead of time\, please reach out. \n\n\n\nNo photography or recording is allowed. Violating this rule will result in an immediate lifetime ban. \n\n\n\nNo pronoun assumptions! Use each other’s names unless told otherwise.Tickets are required for each attendee and are non-refundable.
