DESCRIPTION:An evening of bold\, beautiful music by queer choral composers as well as pop icons. They are the owner of Fairy Cowboy Tours\, a drag-artist led walking tour company focused on sharing the queer history of Ottawa. Barley performs across the country as a theatre and drag artist\, known for their drag king persona Morgan Mercury. They have a Bachelor’s degree in Public Affairs and Policy Management\, Development Policy from Carleton University\, and are completing a Bachelor of Journalism at the University of King’s College in Halifax\, Nova Scotia. \n\n\n\nKiran Niet is an artist who can’t pick a medium\, an event host\, a zinester\, and an accidental academic. Above all\, he is fascinated with community-building and storytelling\, whether through research\, art\, or organizing. As a volunteer at the Ottawa Trans Library\, he curates events centering queer and trans community. In his free time\, Kiran recklessly consumes unhealthy amounts of queer theory and sings in a choir. He can often be found tabling at art markets with his friends. He is about to graduate from Carleton University with a Bachelor’s degree in Global and International Studies\, specializing in Communications. \n\n\n\nThank you Canada Council for the Arts for supporting this important Trans Community Initiative. \n\n\n\n“Tea for Tara” is a monthly storytelling program for the Trans\, and Non-binary community to share\, and witness Trans Stories and history all archived for future generations\, including networking and mentorship.
