SUMMARY:Transform Gender Collective (TGC) Monthly Meetings
DESCRIPTION:Transform Gender Collective (TGC) is a support and discussion group for transmasculine and masculine-of-center Black\, indigenous\, and people of color (BIPOC) to learn about transformative justice\, unlearn toxic gendered behaviors\, and imagine what masculinity could look like outside of the gender binary. \n\n\n\nDuring our virtual meetings\, we will dive deep into the framework of transformative justice (TJ) and how we can apply it to our everyday lives\, create a community of support for one another\, and share our personal stories of coming into our genders. Our ultimate goal is to move the group towards a closed community accountability space where we can practice robust transformative justice as we heal and grow in our masculinities together. \n\n\n\nTGC is open to any Black\, Indigenous\, and/or person of color (BIPOC) who identifies as transmasculine or masculine-of-center\, regardless of gender identity. \n\n\n\nWe ask that white-passing BIPOC reflect on their privilege and the way they are racialized. At TGC\, we discuss our gendered experiences as people that are racialized as Black or brown in the world. Please choose whether to attend our meetings based on these reflections. \n\n\n\nOur virtual monthly meetings are held over Zoom and take place on the last Wednesday of each month from 6:30-8PM EST. SUMMARY:Teeth Become Weapons: Trans Grief and Rage
DESCRIPTION:Queer Death Salon is a community space for all 2SLGBTQIA+ people to come together to discuss death\, dying and grief. It is a facilitated drop-in discussion space\, with the purpose of building connection\, skill\, and resources for 2SLGBTQIA+ people navigating end of life in our personal lives and in our communities. \n\n\n\nOur bodies\, lives\, and very beings are increasingly politicized. \n\n\n\nOur stories and histories are flattened\, made palatable for the sake of survival. \n\n\n\nOur unique grief becomes increasingly buried and unheard\, unshared. \n\n\n\nWhat makes it unique? \n\n\n\nWhat do we grieve? \n\n\n\nHow does that grief affect us? \n\n\n\nWhat prevents us from engaging with that grief? \n\n\n\nHow does our grief connect us and bring us together? \n\n\n\nFacilitator Imogen Reid is the last of the feral trans women\, a proud dirtbag\, degenerate\, and fuck up. She is a harm reduction advocate and educator\, a former founding member of Communities Organizing for Harm Reduction\, one of the first organized groups in Ottawa doing harm reduction before there were any safe sites. Imogen is a recovering drug addict\, survivor\, fighter\, activist\, shoplifter\, parent\, story teller\, and the holder of the memories of her dead. \n\n\n\nQueer Death Salon takes place over Zoom\, in English\, with Automatic Closed Captioning

SUMMARY:The Canadian Calls to Action: Advancing the health and rights of women living with HIV
DESCRIPTION:Presented in partnership with Simon Fraser University and the Canadian HIV Women’s Sexual and Reproductive Health Cohort Study (CHIWOS). \n\n\n\nJoin us to celebrate the launch of the Canadian Calls to Action to advance the sexual and reproductive health and rights of women living with HIV. Building on the World Health Organization’s 2017 global guidelines\, leaders from across Canada have come together to create a framework that ensures women’s rights and health remain at the forefront of Canada’s HIV response. \n\n\n\nThe Calls to Action emphasize the importance of integrating women living with HIV across research\, policy\, practice and programming. SUMMARY:Enhancing harm reduction and sexual health programs for equity-deserving youth
DESCRIPTION:This webinar highlights harm reduction and sexual health programs for equity-deserving young people\, including Indigenous\, queer and trans youth. Presenters discuss how these programs centre lived realities\, reduce stigma and provide more inclusive\, responsive models of care. Designed for frontline workers and programming leaders\, this session explores strategies to increase youth engagement and strengthen services that address the unique needs of young people.  \n\n\n\nMany equity-deserving youth begin exploring sex or drug use without the support\, knowledge or resources needed to stay safe. Those who are disproportionately impacted by HIV\, hepatitis C and drug-related harms often face barriers to sexual health and harm reduction services. This leaves many young people without access to the resources and knowledge they need to take care of their health and well-being. Through this webinar\, learn how youth-centred approaches can advance more equitable models of care that reach youth where they’re at. \n\n\n\nModerator: Magnus Nowell\, CATIE \n\n\n\nSpeakers: \n\n\n\n\nStevie Thompson\, Mycelium\, YouthCO\n\n\n\nColby Hangle\, Mycelium\, YouthCO\n\n\n\nChantal Williamson\, Huddle\, Ka Ni Kanichihk\n\n\n\nKimm Kent\, Peer Outreach Support Services and Education (POSSE Project)\n\n\n\nKayla Slaunwhite\, Peer Outreach Support Services and Education (POSSE Project)
