DESCRIPTION:Join us for a shockingly informative workshop on Electro Play with @LTX4ME \n\n\n\nYou will learn about general Electrical Play with a focus on the Violet Wand and how to safely use it in your play. \n\n\n\nThis workshop will present the fundamentals of electroplay including: \n\n\n\n\nSafety when playing with electricity\n\n\n\nThe various types of electroplay\n\n\n\nDetails on violet wands including;\n\n\n\nThe workings of a violet wand\n\n\n\nWhy and how to use a violet wand\n\n\n\nSetup and troubleshooting\n\n\n\nHow to get most of your violet wand\n\n\n\n\nThis workshop will be broken up into two parts. \n\n\n\nThe first portion of the workshop will address the theory\, while the last portion will be a mix of theory and hands on. \n\n\n\nThe time will be split between instruction and experimentation. \n\n\n\nThis class requires a partner. During the practical experimentation\, switching between giving/receiving will be available.  \n\n\n\nPrerequisites:  This is an introductory class\, so no knowledge requirements. \n\n\n\nSafety: \n\n\n\nPeople with the following conditions cannot participate: \n\n\n\nPregnant\, Heart Disease\, and electronic implants (pacemakers\, Cochlear implants). \n\n\n\nClothing: Footwear with sole (rubber or leather) for the person/s giving\, removable clothes to expose skin for the person/s receiving (at your comfort level\, it is suggested that at least the back being accessible). \n\n\n\nTickets are sold per person. Tickets are available on a sliding scale to promote inclusivity and accessibility. Please choose the ticket price that makes this event accessible to you. All ticket types provide the same access to the event. \n\n\n\nThis workshop does not require a membership. Doors will open 15 minutes before the start of the class. \n\n\n\n@LTX4ME has shocked a few hundred people in the last decade!  He began using a violet wand and other electrical toys in 2012\, presenting workshops and demos at events\, dungeons and classrooms.  Loving how the technical aspect meets the subtlety of human feedback\, the violet wand is one of his favorite toys.  He strives to present this type of play in a safe\, understandable and fun way.

DESCRIPTION:Queer Death Salon is a community space for all 2SLGBTQIA+ people to come together to discuss death\, dying and grief. It is a facilitated drop-in discussion space on zoom\, with the purpose of building connection\, skill\, and resources for 2SLGBTQIA+ people navigating end of life in our personal lives and in our communities.  \n\n\n\nIn April\, our discussion topic is Loss by Suicide.  \n\n\n\nLoss by suicide can kick up a plethora of feelings in addition to the grief one would normally experience with the death of a loved one. It’s not uncommon to feel anger\, guilt\, confusion\, or feelings of rejection (among many other possibilities). This session is for 2SLGBTQIA+ people who have lost people to suicide and are looking to share space with people who have lived through similar circumstances.   \n\n\n\nQuestions to consider  \n\n\n\n\nWho have you lost and what was your relationship to each other? \n\n\n\nHow does this kind of grief differ from other griefs you have experienced? \n\n\n\nWhat were your feelings towards them at their death? How has that changed over time? \n\n\n\nWhat do you wish was better understood about your experience? \n\n\n\n\nParticipants are invited to bring questions of their own\, a special item to show\, or share a story of an important moment.

Our group’s goal is to create a safe\, welcoming and culturally inclusive environment where you can meet others who share similar backgrounds and experiences. We understand the importance of having spaces where Indigenous culture is celebrated\, valued and respected. If you want to make new friends\, find support from peers\, or if you want to come and chill\, our group offers a space where you can be yourself without judgment!  \n\n\n\nThe IndigiQueer Kinship Group will run from 1-3 pm on the second Saturday of every month (with the exception of the first meeting).  \n\n\n\nNotes for Participants: \n\n\n\nThis group is open to anyone who identifies as 2SLGBTQIA+ and self-identifies as First Nation\, Inuit\, or Métis\, we want this space to be available for people with varying lived experiences. While we are open to those reclaiming or navigating their culture\, we will not tolerate any intentional false claims of Indigenous identity or pretendians. While we will not police identities at the IndigiQueer\, we expect you to come in good faith\, or you may be asked to leave.We are also open to participants inviting a non-indigenous family member\, partner\, spouse or kids\, as long as they honour what the space is intended for.  \n\n\n\nThis is a social and peer support group in a community center environment. This means no professional mental health\, psychology\, or therapy support is available during the group. As we are all going to be Indigenous and queer folk\, we recognize the many historical and current traumas that our communities have gone through.We also know that we cannot talk about our successes without acknowledging our pain and oppression. However\, we will ask that you try to refrain from bringing up any personal traumatic experiences during group discussions. When separate from the entire group\, talking amongst yourselves\, you will be able to discuss whatever you would like at your own discretion. This rule is to ensure that we do not re-trigger or cause secondary trauma to anyone participating in the group discussions. Talking about what we have gone through is so important\, but this is a space to relax\, and just be.  \n\n\n\nNote for Parents: \n\n\n\nThis group will allow you to bring your children if you do not have childcare options available. In the past 5 years\, I have been slowly reconnecting with my culture and with the Indigenous people in the community. I live with FASD\, ADHD and anxiety. I love reading\, cooking and baking. I am a Carleton University student currently in my third year of the Bachelor’s of Social Work program\, with minors in Indigenous Studies\, and Criminology and Criminal Justice. With this group\, I hope to make new friends\, connections and learn more about my Inuit culture\, as well as other Indigenous cultures. I look forward to meeting you all\, and hope to have lots of fun in this group!!

Are you interested in having some discussions about sexuality\, identity\, homophobia and your personal experience?
