SUMMARY:TTRPG One-Shot Night
DESCRIPTION:Enjoy an evening of comedy\, science fantasy\, and adventure on Tuesday\, June 16th\, 5:30pm at Kind Space where Lukayo will be running a one-shot tabletop roleplaying game (TTRPG) as the Storyteller (ST). If you’re 18+ years old\, part of the 2SLGBTQ+ community\, and able to travel in-person to Kind Space\, you can register below to be a player at this event. This game is flexible in regards to experience\, and welcomes players that have no prior experience playing in TTRPGs. Note: Players that have not played in a Kind Space game yet will be prioritized. \n\n\n\nSafety Mechanisms:  \n\n\n\nEach registered player will receive a RPG consent form\, that they will need to submit a few days before or at the start of the night so the ST can review people’s REDs (do not put in game) and YELLOWs (please limit this in the game). The ST will also have X-Cards available for folks to use (it’s a card you have that you can put up silently or touch to show the ST that you’re uncomfortable or triggered by the current scene and to move away from it as soon as possible). \n\n\n\nHow Registration Works: \n\n\n\nThe maximum number of players for the evening is 7\, and anyone who registers afterward will be put on a waitlist. If you don’t register by 3pm on Tuesday June 16th\, you will not be allowed in the game– though registration may close earlier if we get a lot of early registration. It’s totally okay if you want to still come and spectate even if you don’t get to play.  \n\n\n\nAbout The Game: \n\n\n\nTitle: SpaceKind \n\n\n\nGenre: Science Fantasy\, Surreal Comedy\, Adventure Astrology \n\n\n\nSystem: Homebrew (Kids On Brooms / Hellenic Astrology)Story: Set in a homebrew world created from Tumblr content about the astral realms and inspired by the show Adventure Time\, you’re an adventurer randomly transported into a place called the Astro. Will you explore to escape\, to have fun\, or for another mysterious agenda?Characters: Your characters will be generated based on your astrology chart\, so if you’re interested in this game\, please be prepared to share your birth location\, birth date\, birth year\, and if possible\, your birth time. \n\n\n\nBackground: \n\n\n\nTTRPGs are collaborative and improvised storytelling that sometimes uses a system of dice rolling and “character sheets”. When using a dice rolling system\, players have a character whose level of skill is signified by numbers. The dice rolling system offers moments of chance where the characters and main storyteller (ST) has to adapt the story based on how high or low the rolls are. The situation becomes challenging when rolling a low number\, while the situation becomes favourable when rolling a high number. \n\n\n\nA “one-shot” game is analogous to a “short film”\, while a “campaign” is analogous to an ongoing “television show”. One-shots are self-contained stories\, sometimes with pre-generated characters\, where the emphasis is on improvisational storytelling and roleplaying\, as opposed to character growth and long-term world-building that you would find in a campaign. \n\n\n\nAccessibility Notes: https://kindspace.ca/about/accessibility/
