DESCRIPTION:We are excited to announce that the trans library is celebrating Trans Day of Visibility with our second annual Trans Day of Snacks! With heightened visibility and trans lives being threatened globally\, being in community with other trans people can be life-altering/saving. We’re proud of you for persevering\, for persisting in being yourself\, for making it this far\, and for choosing yourself over and over again ♥️ \n\n\n\nTo celebrate our wonderful community\, the library will be holding an open house celebration on Sunday\, March 29th\, from 12 to 5 PM- with snacks available- While you snack\, check out our amazing collection of books for loan\, play board games\, and socialize with the community! We’ll set up in the park across the street if weather permits ☀️ \n\n\n\nIt is also our monthly Nonbinary Crafternoon\, we’ll reserve a dedicated area for crafting. To our crafternoon regulars: feel free to come grab a treat and craft as usual <3 \n\n\n\nSnacks are first-come\, first-serve prioritizing the trans community – Please check our stories for updates on snack availability! \n\n\n\nThank you so much to our friends at Moo Shu Ice Cream @mooshuicecream\, Little Jo Berry’s @littlejoberrys\, and Strawberry Blonde @blondebaking\, who are providing delicious snacks and have consistently supported the library and the Ottawa trans community! \n\n\n\nVegan and gluten-free options will be available 🧁And thank you to the good folks of @gendereveal who popularized the idea of Trans Day of Snack 🏳️‍⚧️ \n\n\n\nWho is eligible for snacks? \n\n\n\nIf you identify under the trans and/or non-binary umbrella\, you’re welcome! We additionally encourage allies and local community members to come drop in to learn about our materials and space : ) \n\n\n\nAccessibility\n\n\n\nThe library has two steps up to the door\, a ramp is available upon request which goes out to the end of the sidewalk. \n\n\n\nMasking is expected when not eating or drinking\, however please be aware that snacking is a higher-risk activity by nature.

DESCRIPTION:What to expect: Non-binary people and friends hanging out and crafting. We have supplies for making bracelets\, folding origami\, colored beads\, embroidery floss\, and plastic lace. Volunteer coordinators will be wearing name tags and can help answer any questions you might have. \n\n\n\nIf you would like an idea of what the event space looks like\, check out our recent pics in the gallery. \n\n\n\nWhat to bring: You don’t need to bring anything. You are welcome to bring your own crafting materials. Food and drink is welcome\, also.
