SUMMARY:Karaoke Night
DESCRIPTION:Karaoke this month is themed around love songs that especially focus on friendship\, chosen family\, queerplatonic relationships\, and self-love. However\, you can also absolutely choose other songs outside of the theme if you need. This is an all ages event. Children twelve years of age or younger need to be accompanied by an adult. Minors (ages 13-17) will need to provide an emergency contact.  \n\n\n\nWe’ll be using Youtube karaoke videos on a TV screen or projector screen. In addition\, we have two microphones attached to a separate sound system. You can sing in a group\, be in a duet\, or go solo! When you have your song(s) decided\, you can write them down with your name\, or tell Lukayo\, and you’ll be put on the list. \n\n\n\nRegistration is needed for security reasons\, access needs\, and food requirements in case we provide snacks for the evening.  \n\n\n\nDeadline for Registration: 3pm on Wed March 19th. \n\n\n\nIf you do not register before the deadline\, you might be turned away at the door. DESCRIPTION:Trans Day of Visibility is coming up\, and we know that day can bring up a lot of complex emotions! We wanted to create a community space where you don’t have to worry about visibility bringing harm\, and instead can come and be seen as you truly are. Join us for Trans Tabletop Night\, where you can hang out with trans folks (and loved ones/allies)\, play board games\, and enjoy drinks at our Candy Land Cafe! Feel free to bring your own board games\, but we will also bring ours! \n\n\n\nEvent takes place at 6-8pm at the YSB drop in: 147 Besserer St on the main floor. Masks are mandatory in the main space (we will provide one if you don’t have one!)\, but there will be a separate area where they may be removed to eat.

DESCRIPTION:March 31st is Trans Day of Visibility! Visibility is incredibly important\, and it can also be hard. We’re proud of everyone who presents themselves openly\, or are still finding themselves! \n\n\n\nTo celebrate our wonderful community\, the library will be holding an open house celebration on Sunday\, March 30th\, from 1-4PM- with snacks available- While you snack\, check out our amazing collection of books for loan\, play board games\, and socialize with the community! \n\n\n\n*Snacks are first-come\, first-serve prioritizing the trans community – Please check our stories for updates on snack availability!* \n\n\n\nThank you so much to our friends at Moo Shu Ice Cream @mooshuicecream and Little Jo Berry’s @littlejoberrys who have generously provided delicious snacks\, and have consistently supported the library and the Ottawa trans community! \n\n\n\nVegan and gluten-free options will be available!And thank you to the good folks of @gendereveal who popularized the idea of Trans Day of Snack. \n\n\n\n*Who is eligible for snacks? * \n\n\n\nIf you identify under the trans and/or non-binary umbrella\, you’re welcome!
