DESCRIPTION:Join us every week to lift weights with queer people!! All ages\, levels of experience\, and forms of exercise are welcome 💪 Drop-in at any time and stay for however long you’d like! Our meetups are free and there’s no registration required. Just come hangout!! \n\n\n\nWe’ll provide snacks\, water\, masks\, and weight lifting equipment! See the link in our bio for a full list of our equipment. \n\n\n\nOur meetups are not instructional\, but we’re happy to provide guidance and check your form. \n\n\n\nWAIVERS:Everyone is required to sign a waiver for liability reasons due to the heavy weight lifting equipment involved. We always have pads and tampons available in the restrooms for anyone who needs them. Feel free to take them 🙂 \n\n\n\nTRANSPORTATION:There are spots for free parking in the church’s driveway beside the parking lot. There’s also paid parking in the parking lot and street parking on nearby streets. The church is close to Lyon Station by train/bus. Bikes can be locked on the railings outside or kept inside the church hall.

DESCRIPTION:Run 5 \, 7\, or 9 km with the Frontrunners and have breakfast afterwards at Cooper’s Gastropub. \n\n\n\nOttawa Frontrunners (OFR) is a running and walking club for members of the Two-Spirit\, Lesbian\, Gay\, Bisexual\, Transgender\, and Queer (2SLGBTQ) community and friends. Located in Ottawa\, it is Canada’s national capital chapter of International Frontrunners. We have runners of various ages and skill levels and typically have groups going between 5 and 9 km (3 and 5.59 miles) at various paces. Walkers are also members of the club\, consisting usually of runners on the injury list and partners or friends of runners.

DESCRIPTION:A six-week in-person workshop   \n\n\n\nWant to tell your story? Or a story? What story have you always wanted to tell?  \n\n\n\nAs Elders in the queer community\, your stories are important to be shared\, to be heard\, and to be remembered.  \n\n\n\nThis Winter/Spring session is open to folks who have never written a story and to those who have. If you have attended one of Mary Ellen’s workshops before\, you are welcome to come back and develop your storytelling skills. Mary Ellen has over thirty years of experience creating work for the stage and collaborating with people of all ages. \n\n\n\nDuring this six-week workshop\, participants will meet once a week for two hours to learn basic skills to create and tell their story. Stories can be serious or comic or a blend of both. Participants may use movement\, puppets\, music – however you want to tell your story – are all welcome! \n\n\n\nThis workshop offers an opportunity to gather\, deepen your community connections\, and create stories with the support of each other. The focus is on having FUN\, learning some new skills\, and connecting with each other. \n\n\n\nFamily and friends are invited to the final session to hear the participant’s stories. \n\n\n\nThis workshop is held in English. The registration fee gives you access to all 6 workshop sessions from February 22 to March 29\, 2025.

If you are new to volleyball or have not played in a long time\, don’t worry\, the atmosphere is casual! Everyone is there for fun\, so enjoy yourself!Play description: Ideal for beginners or for those looking to build on their base skills. Open to all levels. Rotational play (setter position 2 or 3)\, promote 3 touches\, and encourage your peers. Higher level players are expected to play at the corresponding level to promote play and help foster a conducive learning environment.
