SUMMARY:Transform Gender Collective (TGC) Monthly Meetings
DESCRIPTION:Transform Gender Collective (TGC) is a support and discussion group for transmasculine and masculine-of-center Black\, indigenous\, and people of color (BIPOC) to learn about transformative justice\, unlearn toxic gendered behaviors\, and imagine what masculinity could look like outside of the gender binary.  \n\n\n\nDuring our virtual meetings\, we will dive deep into the framework of transformative justice (TJ) and how we can apply it to our everyday lives\, create a community of support for one another\, and share our personal stories of coming into our genders. Our ultimate goal is to move the group towards a closed community accountability space where we can practice robust transformative justice as we heal and grow in our masculinities together.  \n\n\n\nTGC is open to any Black\, Indigenous\, and/or person of color (BIPOC) who identifies as transmasculine or masculine-of-center\, regardless of gender identity.  \n\n\n\nWe ask that white-passing BIPOC reflect on their privilege and the way they are racialized. At TGC\, we discuss our gendered experiences as people that are racialized as Black or brown in the world. Please choose whether to attend our meetings based on these reflections.   \n\n\n\nOur virtual monthly meetings are held over Zoom and take place on the last Wednesday of each month from 6:30-8PM EST. DESCRIPTION:Enjoy a special evening at Kind Space for socializing and talking about plants. This month we’re partnering with Centretown Community Health Centre’s Growing Resistance Garden Club! They have a rooftop community garden that they work on\, and we can take a trip with them to the garden and help them work on it. \n\n\n\nWe’ll be meeting up with the Growing Resistance Garden Club at Kind Space for 5:30pm\, and then as a group we’ll be heading to the rooftop garden at 6pm. If you show up late\, you’ll need to call Kind Space to let you into the garden\, as the building and the garden are automatically locked at 6pm. \n\n\n\nThis is an all ages event. Children twelve years of age or younger need to be accompanied by an adult. Minors (ages 13-17) will need to provide an emergency contact. \n\n\n\nMaximum Participants: 10 people Deadline for Registration: 3pm on Thurs June 25th. \n\n\n\nIf you do not register before the deadline\, you might be turned away at the door. We are no longer taking walk-ins for programs and events. We also cannot take more than 10 people this time because of how small the garden is\, so there’s a chance that registration will close early as soon as we reach 10 people registered.

All of our furniture is rated for a minimum of 250 lbs with some chairs rated for 500 lbs. The space is well lit with warm-toned overhead lamps. Background music plays at a low volume. Our doors are all manual\, not automated.  \n\n\n\nGluten free\, vegan\, and refined sugar-free options are available for food and drink. \n\n\n\nCafé Bon Vivant is a queer-owned business. The facilitator for Coffee and Crochet is also a member of the queer community. This event is free and open to everyone.
