DESCRIPTION:A social and dance party for Bi+ Visibility Day! \n\n\n\nHeld @ottawabikecafe & music by our fave bi+ DJ @djdelpilar! \n\n\n\nThis party is 19+ and is open to all who ID under the bi+ umbrella and our pals. We aim to provide a safer space that centers bi+ folks and gives them a chance to connect\, validate & celebrate! Allies/accomplices/anyone who wants to be in community with bi+ folks are also welcome 😘 \n\n\n\nBi+ Visibility 🎉In 1999\, three bi+ activists got together and saw the need for a specific day to celebrate and centre the bi+ community. When trying to pick a date\, the founders settled on a date in September as it was the birth month of bisexual icon Freddie Mercury.We celebrate the day on September 23 as well as Bisexual Awareness Week from September 16-23 to acknowledge the contributions made by bi+ folks and to reiterate that bisexual people exist and have always existed! \n\n\n\nTickets and info about access\, what to expect\, and more through the link below.

DESCRIPTION:🔆 It’s spring and we’re thinking patios! Dance party and patio hangs @ottawabikecafe on June 20th – @djdelpilar on the decks\, 7-10 pm. Guest performances by @theresagrahamstudio! \n\n\n\nThe Ottawa Bike Cafe is a physically accessible space with lots of room\, high ceilings\, a powerful HVAC system and a sweet patio. The cafe serves a wide variety of non-alcoholic beverages alongside alcoholic drinks and food. Eating and drinking on the patio\, please.😷KN95 or equivalent masks are required indoors and optional outdoors. Some N95s (overhead straps) will be available at the door for free. The staff may be wearing surgical masks\, but will be offered N95s (TBD).😷 More covid-safer info: Two air purifiers and the HVAC system will be running all night. We will have a CO2 monitor on the DJ table where anyone can check the levels anytime.🎟 Tickets are by donation; the suggested donation is $20 but starts at $0. We want to reduce financial barriers by making tickets truly pay what you can! If paying more isn’t a burden for you\, we welcome the support! \n\n\n\nWhat to Expect? \n\n\n\nInside: Dance party with DJ del Pilar and an activities table (coloring\, etc) for those who want to hear the music but not into dancing all the time. Special guest performer\, Theresa Graham will be joining us for two acts\, one at 8pm and another at 9pm! All performances will be masked. \n\n\n\nOutside: Games table and chill times. Masks optional outside and space for about 20 on the patio. Eating and drinking on the patio\, please.
