International Sex Worker’s Day takes place every year on June 2. It originated in 1975 and marks the start of the international movement for sex worker’s rights. It’s creation comes from the increased violence towards sex workers by police and clients, and follows the death of two sex workers from a group of over 100 occupying the Église Saint-Nizier in Lyon.
