Invite your friends and loved ones for a fun, creative evening! Whether you’re looking to try something new, explore alternative photography, or just enjoy an artistic night out, this workshop is a perfect way to welcome spring.

About the Workshop

Led by Linh VH Nguyen

With the Spring Equinox just around the corner, this cyanotype workshop will focus on floral imagery, layering techniques, and alternative processing methods to create unique prints. This session is perfect for beginners and experienced creatives alike, offering hands-on exploration of one of the earliest photographic printing techniques.

In addition to the traditional cyanotype process, this class will introduce special tea toning technique:

  • Print Bleaching with washing soda
  • Toning with different types of tea for varied hues
  • Floral-themed compositions using photo negatives, pressed flowers, and stencils

Cyanotype & Alternative Processing Safety

Cyanotype is a historical photographic printing technique that uses ferric ammonium citrate and potassium ferricyanide to create rich blue-toned prints. The process is environmentally safe, but we will take precautions:

  • Avoid direct skin contact with the solution; wash with soap and water if needed.
  • Washing soda (used for bleaching) should be handled carefully to avoid skin irritation.
  • Toning solutions (various teas) are non-toxic and safe to use.
  • Gloves and handling tools (tongs/clippers) will be available for added safety.
