Endless Journey Vernissage

July 3 @ 6:00 pm 8:00 pm

We are beyond thrilled to introduce our first art show of the year, showcasing the talents of trans and gender diverse artists 🏳️‍⚧️ ✨ Come by the Ottawa Trans Library this July to check out Oreon’s exploration of his transness across different art mediums. Vernissage will be held at 6pm on Friday, July 3rd, there will be snacks!

About the artist:

“Oreon is a gender non-conforming multidisciplinary artist based in ‘Ottawa,’ whose art is inspired by nature and their experiences as a queer immigrant from Colombia. He graduated in 2025 from NSCAD University with a BFA, and minors in Illustration, Ceramics, and Art History. During his time there, he developed a deep passion for art curation, installation, and community-event organization.

His art practice combines abstract imagery with figurative representation through the materializing of emotions with shapes and colours to better understand himself and the world around him. His work frequently merges the two-dimensional elements of illustration with the three-dimensional nature of ceramics sculpture. He leans towards cute aesthetics and approaches heavy topics with humour and lightheartedness, bringing love to the unloved.”

About this exhibition:

“Endless Journey showcases Oreon’s journey of discovering his trans identity, a revelation buried under layers of fear and denial, slowly unveiled through layers of paint, bright colours, and clay. Mediums in the exhibition include large-scale oil paintings, ceramics, and illustrations. Themes of self-discovery, healing, and acceptance informed the making of the work, as well as the desire to connect and build community with the world around him. In the vulnerable act of sharing one’s inner life, Oreon hopes to help viewers feel less alone, and to find the courage to be themselves in today’s political climate.”
