Enhancing harm reduction and sexual health programs for equity-deserving youth
January 21 @ 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm
This webinar highlights harm reduction and sexual health programs for equity-deserving young people, including Indigenous, queer and trans youth. Presenters discuss how these programs centre lived realities, reduce stigma and provide more inclusive, responsive models of care. Designed for frontline workers and programming leaders, this session explores strategies to increase youth engagement and strengthen services that address the unique needs of young people.
Many equity-deserving youth begin exploring sex or drug use without the support, knowledge or resources needed to stay safe. Those who are disproportionately impacted by HIV, hepatitis C and drug-related harms often face barriers to sexual health and harm reduction services. This leaves many young people without access to the resources and knowledge they need to take care of their health and well-being. Through this webinar, learn how youth-centred approaches can advance more equitable models of care that reach youth where they’re at.
