HIV/AIDS, Harm Reduction, and 2SLGBTQIA+ History

Virtual Event

May 14 @ 1:00 pm 2:30 pm

In the early days of the HIV/AIDS epidemic, communities took action where governments failed—creating harm reduction programs to prevent HIV transmission and care for one another. Many of those programs still exist today, offering life-saving support amid the ongoing drug toxicity crisis.

Now, harm reduction services are under threat, HIV rates are rising, and politicians are scapegoating people who use drugs. These struggles are deeply connected.

Join us on Wednesday, May 14 for a webinar with organizers from past and present. Together, we’ll explore where these movements began, what was achieved, and why solidarity between communities is essential to defending health, dignity, and justice.
