We’re back with our pals at @thegrove613 to bring you something a bit more laid-back. DJ del Pilar will be spinning low decibel Afrohouse/beats, funk & RnB. We’ll provide some games – feel free to bring your own!
Tickets
Tickets are by donation with the following suggestions when deciding on how much to pay.
Regular price to cover costs = $20
Please pay less if you need to, including the option to pay $0.
Community Support Tickets: If you can support this event and community members who need to pay less than $20, please do! People who might be able to pay more would have a regular income that covers you and your families basic needs (housing, food, healthcare, transit, clothes). You may also have extra money to eat out and go on vacation. You might have inherited or recieved other family money and/or you make passive income through investments.
Bar with non-alcoholic drinks inc beer, cocktails, seltzers and more.
Accessing the space: If the outside doors are locked, buzz 2800 to get in. Check the QR code below to see a video on getting to the space!
This is a covid-safer event!
N95 or equivalent are required. Some masks will be available for free at the door.
There is a CO2 monitor set up and accessible to check throughout the event. Our last games night didn’t go above 825.
The new Grove space is much bigger than the last one with 2 small windows that open, a central HVAC system, and high ceilings.
We will have at least 3 air purifiers running at max at all times.
18 Louisa does not have easy access to outside so we ask that you enjoy your drinks in the hall outside the main space.
Notes About The Grove
280-18 Louisa is on the 2nd floor of the building with elevator access. There are automatic doors on the outside of the building but the door to the studio is manual.
There are accessible washrooms on the 2nd floor. The (gendered) washrooms are shared with the whole floor but after hours it’s unlikely anyone else will be on site.
The studio is over 800 square feet of open space with an 11 ft ceiling
For seating, we have several options – White folding chairs (max 225lbs /102 kg static) Blue stacking chairs ( max 660lbs / 299.3 kg static) Brown couch (max 700lbs/317.5 kg static) Rustic brown stools (max 264.5lbs/ 120 kg static)
