Now What?: Getting Ready for Dragon Boating

April 8 @ 6:30 pm 8:30 pm

Whether you’re brand new or returning to the water, this session is all about preparing mind and body for dragon boat season. We will learn about the fundamentals of the sport, what to expect as a team member, and what to expect before training begins.

We’ll cover readiness tips, team dynamics, wellness strategies, and what participation can look like for different experience levels. This is also a space to connect with others who are curious about paddling and community sport as a pathway to wellness and belonging.

Come get inspired, get informed, and get ready to move together.

Notes on Accessibility

  1. Our building has three elevators, and our office is fully wheelchair accessible. Different seating options are available throughout the evening. There is a gender neutral and wheelchair accessible washroom just outside of our office. Please let us know in advance if you require any additional accommodations.
  2. Our office is right around the corner from bus stops for the 6, 7, and 11. We’re about a 5-minute walk from the nearest stop for the 14, and a 10-minute walk from Parliament Station (Line 1 of the O-train). There are also several paid parking lots and garages within walking distance. If transit is a barrier for you to attend a session, let us know and we’ll help you out!
  3. If you get here after 6:30 pm, the doors and elevator will be locked. Don’t worry — just press the MAX buzzer on the side of the door or give us a call at 613‑701‑6555 or 343‑307‑0494. (You can also reach us on WhatsApp!)
  4. Signed up for a session but can no longer make it? No problem — just shoot us an email at a.wilson@maxottawa.ca as soon as you can.
