Queer Latin Movie Night
October 8 @ 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm
Our October edition has a spooky touch, but it’s the perfect dose of mystery and queer culture. We’ll be bringing homemade food prepared with lots of love. We invite you to bring something to share, too; that way, we can have dinner together and head home withla barriga llena y el corazón contento.
This event will take place at Kind Space (400 Cooper St.), an inclusive space for the LGBTQ community in Ottawa.
The venue is accessible, and doors open at 6:00 pm. We will start gathering at 6:00 pm, and the movie will begin around 7:00 pm. (Don’t worry, you can join at any point in the evening. The main thing is to show up with curiosity, an open mind, and a desire to meet new people).

- 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM: Food and social time
- 7:00 PM – 8:30 PM: Movie screening
- 8:30 PM – 9:15 PM: Post-movie chat (about the film and life)
🌮 About Food
This is a free event, but any contribution helps:
- If you are able, you can make a financial donation (suggested $5 to $15 CAD) to help us cover costs. You can send your donation via e-Transfer to latinxsenlacapital@gmail.com or bring cash the day of the event.
- You can also bring something to share (empanadas, tamales, arepas, pupusas, salads, alfajores, tequeños, buñuelos, etc.). At Kind Space, we have a microwave, electric kettle, and a small toaster oven to heat up food.
- Nobody is required to bring food AND money—contribute with whatever is within your reach.
