Sounds of the East

October 30 @ 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm

Sounds of the East is a live tribute concert presented in Ottawa and Montréal for two exceptional evenings celebrating the music of three defining icons of the Arab world: Sayed Darwish, Abdel Halim Hafez, and Mohammed Abdu.

Presented first at the University of Ottawa’s Alumni Auditorium, followed by the Cinquième Salle at Place des Artsin Montréal, the concert will bring new life to the timeless songs that have shaped generations and touched audiences across the Arab world.

Every song tells a story. Every melody awakens a memory. Every performance carries us through the love, longing, joy, and resilience expressed in this remarkable music. Performed live by Hikaya Band, the concert offers an emotional musical journey filled with powerful vocals, rich arrangements, and timeless melodies.

More than a tribute concert, Sounds of the East is a celebration of Arabic music and its extraordinary ability to connect people across generations, cultures, and borders. In an elegant and cinematic atmosphere, audiences will rediscover beloved classics and experience them together in a deeply moving live performance.
