Studies medical genderism and cisnormativity, discrimination, and economic and geographic barriers for accessing South Africa’s public health system for trans women. Proposes solutions of integrating trans-inclusive polices, expanding medical training, increase funding, develop intake forms and protocols that include gender diversity, and improve representation by hiring trans healthcare providers.
