An epic journey together, working on a self-directed change around substance use.
In this 6 week long, closed group, we undertake an epic journey together, each working on a self-directed change around substance use. This means that everyone in the space chooses their own goal and we support each other in working towards these goals.
The types of changes the group supports include:
- Changing how much I use.
- Changing how often I use.
- Changing what substance I use.
and more.
This group is open for goals around any substances, including alcohol, and for folks looking to stop using a substance. This group provides an inclusive and judgment-free space, where we all respect and support each other in making the changes each participant is working towards.
You can contact Mat Adams, the Harm Reduction Programs Coordinator at m.adams@maxottawa.ca to sign up for the waitlist. We will contact you when the next round begins.
After the ParTy is an 8-week group for guys into guys who have stopped using meth in order to focus on the possibilities of sex without meth and are looking for support around some of the challenges.
This is a closed group, so registration is required. There is a limit of 6 participants, so please register early to secure your spot. The group welcomes all GBT2Q individuals, both cis and trans, and generally runs twice a year, once in the fall and once in the spring.
A free guide will be provided for participants.
We will meet every Monday, at 6:30pm and each meeting lasts for 90 minutes.

- ON HIATUS -
Tea Party is a peer-led weekly drop-in support group for guys who PnP. It will alternate between peer-led presentations and discussions on topics relating to PnP and open group support. One week could have someone talking about come down strategies, and the next week would be an informal chat session.
While Tea Party is on hold we still want to make sure that guys who PnP have access to support. That’s why we have partnered with our Peer Support Program to offer one-on-one peer support, so that if you want to talk about a PnP experience with someone with lived experience, now you can.
Training healthcare professionals and service providers to make them queer competent.
Currently, we offer party and play (PnP) competency training for healthcare providers. If you are looking for other cultural competency training, we can always see what kind of training you are looking for. Email Mat Adams, the Harm Reduction Programs Coordinator at m.adams@maxottawa.ca to ask about the cultural competency training you are looking for.
